Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead platform engineering efforts by delivering scalable infrastructure, reusable tooling, and AI/ML frameworks aligned with strategic roadmaps
  • Architect and implement cloud-native distributed systems with high availability, fault tolerance, and real-time data processing
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response across multiple teams
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
  • Promote engineering best practices and innovation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and measurable outcomes
  • Drive continuous improvement through experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of advanced development tools
  • Develop marketplace engineering capabilities supporting storefront management, pricing, inventory control, sellers, order experiences, and global commerce

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Extensive experience in platform engineering leadership
  • Experience delivering scalable, cloud-native architectures and reusable tooling
  • Proven ability to drive the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
  • Expertise in designing distributed systems optimized for real-time data processing and AI/ML integration
  • Strong technical judgment and architectural decision-making
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing cross-team architectural standards
  • Proficiency in model-driven design and leveraging AI agents
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Preferred: Master's degree and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
