About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for business analytics and reporting
Integrate and transform internal and external data using ETL and streaming techniques
Develop and optimize data models
Ensure data quality, governance, compliance, integrity, and security
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Write, test, and deploy efficient SQL and other code supporting data workflows
Monitor and troubleshoot data systems for high availability and performance
Support Walmart’s data strategy, business objectives, data-driven decision-making, operational excellence, and innovation
Support Merchandising stakeholders through data integration, governance, modeling, analytics, automation, and applied AI

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field; or 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field; or Master's degree in Computer Science and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related field
2 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
Extensive experience in data engineering, including data integration, modeling, and governance within complex environments
Proficiency in SQL
Familiarity with cloud and big data platforms such as Snowflake, Azure, or Google BigQuery
Strong knowledge of data strategy, data quality standards, and data ecosystem management
Ability to develop and optimize data pipelines using ETL, streaming ingestion, and API techniques
Skilled in creating logical and physical data models
Experience in coding, testing, and deploying data solutions using appropriate programming languages
Understanding of regulatory and ethical requirements related to data privacy, security, and governance
