Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and evaluate data sources aligned with business requirements and quality standards
  • Develop, test, and deploy analytical models using statistical and machine learning techniques
  • Perform data quality assessments and ensure scalability and sustainability of deployed models
  • Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and actionable insights
  • Create data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into business processes
  • Mentor junior associates on modeling techniques and best practices
  • Apply data governance, accessibility, and storage principles
  • Enhance Walmart's e-commerce search backend using machine learning and advanced algorithms
  • Support scalable model deployment and data pipeline development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics-related field; or Master's degree in one of these fields and 1 year's experience; or 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field
  • Proven expertise in data science and machine learning techniques
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, or Tableau
  • Knowledge of data sources and database technologies including SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience in data quality assessment
  • Experience in model validation, tuning, and performance evaluation using statistical methods
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions
  • Familiarity with data governance, management standards, and scalable model deployment
  • Effective communication skills to present insights and mentor junior team members
