About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, train, and deploy production-ready computer vision solutions for fintech use cases, including detection, segmentation, OCR, document AI, and visual retrieval
- Collaborate with Finance, Tech, and Product partners to align priorities and execute initiatives
- Build and optimize computer vision architectures, embeddings, and evaluation techniques
- Monitor model accuracy, latency, throughput, drift, reliability, GPU utilization, and production cost
- Identify production issues and implement continuous improvements
- Present recommendations to business partners and influence plans based on insights
- Deliver high-quality, business-driven solutions with a customer-centric mindset
- Stay current with computer vision, generative AI, document intelligence, vision-language models, GPU inference, and production ML practices
- Drive innovation across end-to-end problem solving
- Engage proactively in the external community to build Walmart’s brand and learn industry practices
- Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–10 years of experience
- PhD with 3+ years of experience, Master’s with 5+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s with 7+ years of experience, preferably in Computer Science
- Strong experience in computer vision and deep learning models
- Strong understanding of CNNs, Vision Transformers, attention mechanisms, transfer learning, open source and frontier VLMs
- Experience evaluating models and optimizing GPU inference using batching, quantization, mixed precision, TensorRT, ONNX, or equivalent technologies
- Hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and the AI/ML stack
- Experience deploying models through APIs, batch pipelines, or cloud-based inference platforms
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Strong stakeholder-management skills
- Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ analytics-related experience, or Master’s degree and 1 year’s analytics-related experience, or 5 years’ analytics-related experience
- Must work from the Bangalore/Chennai office for daily work
