About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the MINT Data Science team within Walmart Global Tech's Applied AI organization
- Shape competitive intelligence through AI/ML products supporting eCommerce and Marketplace growth
- Experiment with and apply machine learning techniques to improve competitive intelligence data
- Lead several teams of data scientists and engineers to deliver business outcomes
- Train, develop, and coach managers and individual contributors
- Provide thought leadership and counsel to stakeholders on data solutions
- Define problem statements and translate business requirements into data and analytic strategies, initiatives, and projects
- Synthesize data from different sources and provide actionable business insights or analytic solutions
- Develop expertise in relevant data domains
- Train and coach analytics staff in technical knowledge and data domains
- Adhere to Walmart policies, procedures, mission, values, ethics, and integrity standards
- Adopt quality standards and develop or recommend process standards and industry best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD from a reputed institution
- Minimum of 15 years of data science experience
- Demonstrated technology leadership and strong hands-on experience
- Proven record of scientific publications or intellectual property generation
- Strong programming skills across big data and ML engineering stack
- Strong communication skills with high ownership and commitment
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 7 years' experience in an analytics-related field; or Master's degree in one of these fields and 5 years' experience; or 9 years' experience in an analytics or related field
- 3 years' supervisory experience
