About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable machine learning solutions for complex business challenges
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver ML features and models aligned with business objectives
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable ML systems using appropriate algorithms, frameworks, and coding languages
- Implement and maintain data pipelines, APIs, and model components ensuring quality, security, and compliance
- Apply MLOps practices including CI/CD, model versioning, monitoring, and automated retraining
- Conduct model evaluation, validation, and performance monitoring
- Mentor team members on best practices, code quality, and model evaluation techniques
- Participate in architectural discussions to improve scalability and maintainability
- Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency services using distributed systems, fault-tolerance, and concurrency practices
- Run A/B experiments measuring search quality and business metrics
- Support eCommerce search and discovery systems, including query and intent understanding, autocomplete, retrieval, ranking, and data and feature pipelines
- Drive continuous improvement, technical excellence, innovation, and operational resilience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, AI systems or related area; OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering, machine learning engineering, AI systems or related area
- Expertise designing, developing, and deploying scalable machine learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Java, C++, or R
- Experience writing clean, production-ready code
- Proficiency in MLOps, including CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, automated retraining, and monitoring for performance and drift
- Experience with hyperparameter optimization, model evaluation, and feature engineering
- Knowledge of secure, compliant AI engineering and data pipeline development
- Familiarity with large language modeling and GPU optimization techniques
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers
- Preferred: Master's degree and 1 year's experience in a related area
- Preferred: Work experience in accessibility best practices
- Preferred: Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies
