About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead automation network planning and engineering efforts shaping Walmart's future supply chain strategy
- Develop models determining automation system sizing, throughput requirements, labor needs, and network capacity
- Evaluate automation technologies, material flow concepts, and operational data for facility design and automation investments
- Define system configurations, planning assumptions, and operational requirements supporting future network expansion
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and external partners to evaluate scenarios and drive strategic decisions
- Deliver executive-ready insights, dashboards, and recommendations influencing automation strategy and capital planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area; or 6 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area
- 2 years’ supervisory experience
- Expertise in automation engineering, material flow systems, and supply chain operations
- Experience evaluating automation solutions and applying engineering principles to optimize system performance, capacity, and labor outcomes
- Strong understanding of automation architectures, system sizing, throughput analysis, and facility design tradeoffs
- Ability to translate volume forecasts and business requirements into automation engineering recommendations
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate complex concepts to executive audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities
