About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of automation systems for operational efficiency and process improvement
  • Interpret complex data, develop insights, and influence strategic decisions using data analysis tools
  • Plan, organize, and monitor projects while mitigating risks and ensuring timely delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement technology changes
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans, test criteria, status reports, and other documentation
  • Analyze workflows and recommend optimized solutions through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee financial analyses to evaluate automation investments and alignment with business objectives
  • Lead detailed design and implementation projects within Walmart’s Ambient network
  • Make layout decisions and ensure designs meet mechanical, electrical, fire protection, air, and associate requirements
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Safety, Construction, and Global Technology stakeholders to ensure installations fulfill requirements
  • Support technology adoption and foster innovation and efficiency across supply chain automation systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area; or 6 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience
  • Proven expertise in automation system design, integration, and troubleshooting within complex operational environments
  • Strong data analysis skills using visualization tools
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including risk identification, contingency planning, and stakeholder communication
  • Ability to analyze and improve business processes
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and return-on-investment evaluation
  • Effective communication skills for presenting complex information and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Experience fostering collaboration and building partnerships
  • Ability to work in a drug-free workplace and comply with Walmart’s no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
