About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop communication strategies for Walmart's sourcing and procurement organization
- Act as a strategic advisor to the business
- Shape Walmart's sourcing narrative
- Lead press events and media announcements, including executive interview preparation
- Counsel on speaking opportunities and interview requests
- Partner with senior sourcing leaders to enhance thought leadership
- Deliver communication assets that enhance the enterprise narrative
- Build relationships with sourcing and procurement leaders and address their communication needs
- Collaborate with merchandising, operations, supply chain, logistics, ethics, and compliance teams
- Operate with a high sense of urgency and proactively address challenges
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area
- 1 year’s supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams
- Experience in engaging storytelling, creative thinking, and visionary planning
- Ability to assess and mitigate risks
- Established relationships with media contacts in retail, sourcing, and other business sectors
- Experience supporting executive communications
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to simplify complex subjects
- Ability to collaborate with agency partners
- Passport with no legal restrictions to travel
