About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own recurring accounting activities supporting store operations, including close, reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Analyze store and segment results and explain financial drivers to Finance and business partners
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Product, Technology, and Controllership on business and process changes
  • Evaluate accounting and control impacts of new or changing store processes
  • Lead projects improving the accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of store accounting
  • Identify root causes of accounting, data, and control issues and drive resolution
  • Communicate accounting conclusions, financial impacts, and risks to stakeholders and leadership
  • Support the accounting and financial integrity of Walmart’s U.S. store operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area
  • 1 year’s supervisory experience
  • Strong accounting fundamentals
  • Experience applying U.S. GAAP and internal control concepts
  • Ability to manage recurring accounting responsibilities while leading projects and process improvements
  • Strong business understanding of store operations and financial results
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop practical solutions
  • Experience working across Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, and other functional teams
  • Strong judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Clear communication skills and ability to translate accounting complexity into business language
