About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable, cloud-native, AI-powered data platforms and products
  • Write production-quality code and implement complex distributed systems
  • Architect end-to-end data pipelines integrating data sources into reliable data products for merchants and suppliers
  • Oversee data integration, transformation, and quality assurance across data sources and platforms
  • Establish data governance, automated data quality frameworks, and compliance practices
  • Champion DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, and observability
  • Drive code reviews, incident resolution, and system performance optimization
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into data strategies and architectures
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting coding, testing, and data-modeling best practices
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve data infrastructure and automation
  • Drive continuous improvement in data pipelines for reliability and performance at scale
  • Lead and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related field; or 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related field; or Master's degree in Computer Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related field
  • 4 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
  • 1 year’s supervisory experience
  • Experience with data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
  • Experience with ETL tools and working with large data sets in the cloud
  • Preferred knowledge of accessibility best practices, WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and assistive technologies
