About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Code, unit test, and build high-performance, scalable applications for Walmart International customers in supply chain management and customer experience
Design, architect, and deliver one or more systems/products end to end
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Estimate effort, identify risks, prioritize work, and devise and meet project schedules
Improve sustainable engineering best practices, code quality, documentation, testing, and monitoring
Build and maintain systems compliant with certification, regulatory standards, and technology-based information security programs
Ensure product architectures and implementations are scalable, extensible, and high-performing
Analyze and test programs/products before formal launch
Suggest extensions of current systems to new products and services
Deliver high-quality products on schedule that meet business and technical requirements
Mentor and coach engineers, providing technical leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (Option 1)
7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area and 2 years’ supervisory experience (Option 2)
12+ years of object-oriented software development experience using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, Azure or any cloud, Kafka, MSSQL, and NoSQL (CosmosDB/MongoDB)
Expertise in event-driven programming, with recommended experience in Kafka
Hands-on experience with Mockito and Jenkins
Hands-on experience writing JUnit test cases and working with Maven/Ant/Gradle and Git
Experience building web and mobile applications with ReactJS and ReactNative
Experience with Splunk, OpenObserve, Prometheus, and Grafana
Experience with Data Lake, BigQuery, Spark, and Hudi
Basic knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), generative AI, and agentic AI
Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience developing highly scalable and available products
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design concepts and applicability
Experience working with Agile methodologies
Knowledge of security concepts and protocols, including authentication, authorization, and confidentiality, and their usage in enterprise applications
Willingness to learn new skills as required by project needs
Ability to mentor junior developers and continuously improve software engineering practices
