About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead platform-level execution of software and AI/ML systems aligned with domain priorities and roadmap milestones
- Oversee shared infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD, SDKs, model runtimes, and feature stores
- Guide architectural reviews and system design decisions
- Drive the full software development lifecycle across multiple teams
- Champion DevOps architecture and CI/CD practices
- Implement cloud cost optimization, automation, telemetry, and tooling enhancements
- Own operational delivery, system availability, scalability, and incident response preparedness
- Oversee robust AI-integrated software systems serving millions of customers and associates
- Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams on AI/ML features, intelligent automation, and agentic AI systems
- Integrate ML components and AI agents using Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and TypeScript
- Leverage GitHub Copilot to accelerate innovation and engineering velocity
- Mentor and develop engineers and managers
- Ensure technical quality through testing, code reviews, defect prevention, security, and compliance
- Own complex technical initiatives and coordinate priorities, milestones, and dependencies
- Manage stakeholder relationships across engineering, product, and data teams
- Establish and track operational, functional, and engineering metrics
- Drive business plans and projects, remove performance barriers, and develop contingency plans
- Supervise, train, mentor, assign duties, and evaluate associates
- Promote company policies, ethics, integrity, compliance, and the Open Door Policy
- Evaluate plan effectiveness, improve efficiency and cost effectiveness, and support community outreach
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (Option 1)
- 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area and 2 years’ supervisory experience (Option 2)
- Expertise across the Software Development Life Cycle, Technical Leadership, Solution Design, Project Management, and Software Architecture
- Strong technical ownership and responsibility for deliverables
- Sound technical judgment
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies
- Collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
