About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design of modular, scalable, highly available backend services
- Balance reliability, security, performance, and cost
- Author and review .NET/C# code and set technical standards
- Mentor engineers through design and implementation
- Architect and operate distributed systems on AWS using Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes/ECS
- Own relational and NoSQL data design
- Drive testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and defect resolution
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 3–6 engineers
- Design and operate services powering interactions with the VIZIO OS platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; or 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- 2 years’ supervisory experience
- Expert .NET/C# experience
- Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and performance-tune production code
- Experience building and supporting reliable, always-on backend services
- Strong background in scalable distributed systems and object-oriented design
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform/IaC, Docker, and container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS)
- Experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Solid grasp of CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud cost efficiency
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers while staying technically hands-on
