About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the strategy and development of Walmart’s ocean freight forwarding product
- Build global logistics services for shippers in collaboration with marketplace and logistics teams
- Scope, design, implement, and launch new commercial services
- Influence organizational change and leverage technical acumen
- Manage the commercial profit and loss (P&L)
- Build the strategic vision and roadmap for ocean forwarding
- Drive program development lifecycles and meet critical launch timelines
- Prioritize capabilities using ocean freight forwarding industry expertise
- Lead goals, plans, and commercial requirements for ocean freight (FCL, LCL) and adjacent services
- Collaborate across supply chain, marketplace, product, engineering, and internal and external stakeholder groups
- Mentor, coach, and develop high-performing teams
- Support financial objectives, compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 4 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area OR 6 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area
- 2 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office
- Extensive experience building ocean freight forwarding services and driving operational efficiencies
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet aggressive timelines
- Technical acumen to develop detailed business requirements for Tech and Engineering partner teams
- Leadership experience mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and achieve business objectives
- Proficiency utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial acumen
- Experience in supply chain optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
