  • Develop high-performance, scalable Omni Catalog Services for millions of Sam’s Club customers
  • Design and develop integrations with downstream applications on event-driven, microservice-based platforms
  • Work on NextGen upstream integration and catalog migration to a new platform
  • Develop highly scalable catalog microservices
  • Independently handle high-impact software and systems monitoring issues
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues
  • Design scalable services and solve complex software systems problems using state-of-the-art technology
  • Provide technical direction, architecture leadership, and expertise
  • Lead by example as an experienced developer
  • Drive high-visibility projects across the organization
  • Participate in medium- to large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Hands-on development building n-tier applications using RESTful Services, Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Python, and NoSQL
  • Working knowledge of one or more cloud technologies such as Azure, GCP, or OpenStack
  • Experience with internet-scale distributed technologies such as Solr, Kafka, or MemCache
  • Relevant experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Advanced knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Strong expertise designing and building APIs
  • Strong expertise in Java, Scala, object-oriented and functional programming, and design patterns
  • Experience with DevOps, Chaos Engineering, SRE, and on-call rotations
  • Ability to work in a drug-free workplace
