About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead delivery of scalable, secure software solutions aligned with platform and business objectives
  • Architect, supervise, and develop TV OS software for next-generation platforms and hardware
  • Develop and port OS features for smart TVs, including audio, video, USB, HDMI, and external peripherals
  • Support development of application features across smart TV OS stacks
  • Oversee the abstraction layer between TV hardware and applications
  • Implement hardware automation testing
  • Lead sustenance engineering for existing HAL layers and supporting applications on Linux-based OS
  • Improve existing systems through bug fixes and new feature development
  • Collaborate across teams to translate complex requirements into reliable, maintainable systems
  • Drive full lifecycle development, including design, coding, testing, and deployment
  • Apply AI/ML components and modern development practices
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, defect management, iterative development, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to high-quality software projects delivered on schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (alternative to Option 2)
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (alternative to Option 1)
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices
  • Strong experience delivering scoped features through collaborative engineering teams
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the full software development lifecycle with CI/CD and automated testing
  • Skilled in code review, debugging, and defect management
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software
  • Effective collaboration and communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Commitment to continuous learning, mentorship, and engineering excellence
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
