Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply and/or develop machine-learning solutions to create efficient and scalable models at Walmart scale
  • Develop intuitive, scalable software that meets customer and company needs
  • Collaborate with team members to establish software best practices and requirements
  • Maintain code professionally and create regular updates
  • Analyze and test programs/products before formal launch
  • Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently
  • Develop programs that monitor the sharing of private information and support software security
  • Identify ways to improve software effectiveness
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards
  • Build core platforms and services enabling third-party sellers to list, sell, and manage products on Walmart.com
  • Monitor customer experience and deliver insights to sellers about assortment, pricing, and inventory
  • Collaborate with partner platform teams to improve seller and customer experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.E./B. Tech/MS/MCA in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 5+ years of object-oriented programming experience in Java
  • Excellent computer systems fundamentals, data structures/algorithms, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with J2EE, Kafka, Apache Camel, RESTful Web Services, Spring, Hibernate, Splunk, caching
  • Experience in systems design and distributed systems
  • Exposure to SQL/NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and MongoDB
  • Large-scale distributed services experience, including scalability and fault tolerance
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as OpenStack, Azure, GCP, or AWS
  • Exposure to build, CI/CD, and deployment pipelines; Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, etc.
  • Minimum qualification: bachelor's degree plus 3 years of software engineering experience, or 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Preferred: master's degree and 1 year leading information security or cybersecurity projects
  • Cisco certification listed as preferred qualification
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices is valued
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
