About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages
- Drive the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing
- Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and development innovation
- Participate in solution design and evaluate trade-offs
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes
- Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement through proactive testing and observability
- Build scalable, secure, maintainable, high-throughput, low-latency systems supporting Walmart's eCommerce experience across Walmart.com, mobile apps, and in-store platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices
- Strong experience delivering scoped features and managing the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing
- Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous development methodologies
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions
- Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools
- Minimum of 3 years of solid Java experience
- Deep understanding of the Spring Framework
- Good knowledge of high-throughput, event-driven architectures with Kafka and Cassandra
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and technical judgment
- Preferred but not required: Master's degree and cybersecurity project leadership experience; Cisco certification; knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and accessibility best practices
