About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead delivery of scalable, secure software solutions with cross-functional teams
  • Own feature and model delivery, including implementation, iteration, testing, and support
  • Write clean, efficient, reliable code across multiple languages
  • Drive the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing
  • Integrate AI and ML components and use generative AI tools
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management
  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible front-end applications
  • Design, develop, and support RESTful and GraphQL APIs
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, database schemas, and migrations
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence, innovation, and best practices
  • Support Walmart’s operational excellence platforms, dashboards, AI-enabled reports, and decision-making tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (Option 1)
  • OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area (Option 2)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, and Java
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools
  • Experience building responsive, accessible front-end applications using React and TypeScript
  • Experience designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Express
  • Strong SQL skills, including optimized queries, schema design, and database migrations
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, and session-based authentication
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Exposure to Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or AWS
  • Ability to support WCAG 2.2 AA and assistive technologies is preferred
