About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment skills
  • Diagnose and repair commercial food equipment, including ovens, slicers, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, and related equipment
  • Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules
  • Train Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning
  • Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities
  • Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance logs
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
  • Support stores and Store associates through clear, transparent, and respectful communication
  • Limit cross-contamination risks in food production areas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
  • Vocational or technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 6 years’ experience in one of these areas
  • License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
  • No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
  • 1 year's experience using intermediate-level word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Preferred: experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • Preferred: experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
