About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform routine preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Inspect, clean, repair, test, and diagnose facilities, equipment, and fixtures
- Document preventive maintenance, repairs, wear and tear, work orders, expenses, and maintenance logs
- Gather capital expense information and recommend repairs or replacements
- Provide hands-on training in safety, control troubleshooting, system operations, and technician skills
- Perform major and minor repairs using plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment skills
- Oversee less-experienced associates and serve as job foreman on assigned worksites
- Respond to emergency calls and perform onsite repairs
- Manage contractors, parts inventory, orders, invoices, warranties, budgets, and supplier relationships
- Ensure work complies with Walmart standards and federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements
- Unload, store, and transport equipment between facilities
- Maintain and coordinate company vehicles for required maintenance
- Safely operate and inspect vehicles, forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, and other powered equipment
- Lead teams, coordinate work assignments, support associates, and drive process improvements
- Model company policies, ethics, integrity, safety, and customer service standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area; or 6 years' experience in these areas
- Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (preferred)
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams (preferred)
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (preferred)
