About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
Support and oversee repairs within the Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC equipment team
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates
Document repair activities
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
Perform work according to Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency regulations and guidelines

Requirements

What you’ll need

3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration, or 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman qualification
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area, or 2 years’ Walmart store experience
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Large-scale rack refrigeration experience
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights
Completion of required safety training
Preferred: completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s degree in applied science A/C and refrigeration
Preferred: experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
Preferred: experience with Glycol and CO2 systems
