About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and oversee repairs of Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets
- Maintain and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment using hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment
- Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
- Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, and fixtures to diagnose issues
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely
- Perform work according to Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety policies and environmental guidelines
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
- Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
- Where required, HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
- Commercial driving record with no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions within the last five years
- No more than two moving violations in the last three years
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years
- No serious traffic violations under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the last three years
- Minimum qualification alternative: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration
- Alternative: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years’ Walmart store experience
- Must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work frequently at heights
- Completion of required safety training to operate equipment and tools
- Preferred: completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2-year associate’s degree in applied science A/C and refrigeration
- Preferred: experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software
- Preferred: experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Preferred: experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- Preferred: experience with Glycol and CO2 systems
