About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop, test, and deliver software features and services using JavaScript, Python, and Java
Collaborate with product, UX, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical designs
Implement and maintain APIs, user interfaces, and ML model components
Apply object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices
Conduct code reviews, debugging, and continuous integration for software lifecycle and deployment
Integrate AI/ML components and leverage GenAI tools to improve development efficiency
Monitor application performance and proactively resolve technical issues
Provide technical guidance to small engineering teams and contribute to process improvements
Support the Dynamic Inventory team’s ETL and machine learning pipelines for demand forecasting and inventory optimization

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area; or 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Proven experience in software development using JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, or C++
Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices
Demonstrated ability to deliver features through collaborative engineering teams, including testing and support
Experience with continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment pipelines
Skilled in debugging, quality assurance, and code review
Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
Familiarity with AI/ML integration and generative AI tools
Effective collaboration and communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work in a drug-free workplace and comply with Walmart’s no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
