About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level designs and technical solutions
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, high-quality software components and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and action plans
- Lead small engineering groups through guidance, documentation, and mentorship
- Implement automation scripts supporting continuous integration and delivery
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security policies, and quality requirements
- Monitor application performance and participate in defect management and regression testing
- Evaluate technical feasibility and recommend solutions to support business needs
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions for Walmart's e-commerce platform
- Support ongoing maintenance and performance optimization
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in Android development with Kotlin
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Experience developing and testing server-side APIs for mobile and web clients using Node.js, Java, Go, or similar technologies
- Experience with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow/LiveData, MVVM and MVI architectures, Retrofit, and GraphQL
- Experience with Android framework components and lifecycles
- Strong knowledge of multithreading, networking, and performance tuning
- Experience with Android SDKs, Jetpack libraries, and lifecycle-aware architecture
- Familiarity with public cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure
- Ability to manage complex projects and translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- GraphQL APIs using Apollo is a plus
- Master's degree in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices is preferred
- Willingness to comply with Walmart's drug-free workplace policy
