About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka
- Deliver features end-to-end from development through production deployment
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and architects to solve complex logistics challenges
- Ensure systems meet non-functional requirements for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Participate in CI/CD processes, code reviews, and engineering best practices
- Support production systems through on-call rotations
- Provide end-to-end visibility of transportation performance in near-real-time to optimize cost and service and mitigate upstream supply chain issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–7 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience building scalable microservices
- Experience with event-driven architectures; Kafka preferred
- Understanding of distributed systems and system design
- Experience in CI/CD environments using Git, Maven, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
- Well versed with testing frameworks including JUnit, Mocha, TestNG, and Selenium
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Experience with NoSQL databases, preferably Cosmos DB
- Experience with relational databases, such as Azure SQL
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to deliver high-quality solutions
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area; or 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Must work from the Bangalore/Chennai office for daily work
- Master's degree and accessibility knowledge are preferred, not required
