About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and development of scalable software solutions
- Collaborate with product management, user experience, product, and project teams on high-level designs
- Troubleshoot business and production issues through root cause analysis and coordinated action plans
- Develop, test, and deliver scalable, maintainable code
- Manage complex projects from requirements gathering through deployment
- Provide technical guidance and identify sustainable solutions for users
- Mentor small engineering teams through documentation, direction, and oversight
- Implement automation scripts and telemetry features
- Support PostgreSQL databases and contribute extensions and plugins to the PostgreSQL open-source ecosystem using C
- Support continuous integration and testing efforts
- Maintain secure, dependable, and maintainable applications aligned with business objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Experience in software design, development, and debugging
- Object-oriented programming and languages such as C
- Knowledge of API design, platform development, and component services
- Ability to manage complex projects and translate requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Proficiency in iterative and incremental development methodologies, including Agile practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation scripting
- Skill in root cause analysis, defect management, and troubleshooting production issues
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance
- Experience supporting SQL databases such as Postgres
- C programming for PostgreSQL extensions and plugins
