About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and development of technical solutions for small to large projects
Collaborate with product management, user experience, and other cross-functional teams
Design, develop, test, and maintain Java, Spring Boot, and REST API code
Translate business requirements into high-performance, maintainable, reliable technical solutions
Define high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions
Troubleshoot production and business issues through root cause analysis and action plans
Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to improve CI/CD
Monitor application performance and conduct maintenance
Evaluate change requests for feasibility and impact
Prepare and execute test cases, manage defects, and ensure timely resolution
Contribute to Walmart’s Last Mile Delivery platform supporting Grocery and Same Day Delivery services
Support operational stability, innovation, and evolving business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
2 or more years in software engineering and Java/J2EE design and architecture
Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments
Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using Java and Spring Boot
Expertise in API design, platform development, and component services
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
Proficiency in debugging, problem solving, and CI/CD practices
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for complex production issues
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and project management
