About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, code, test, and deploy feature-rich iOS applications using Swift for iPadOS
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis
- Implement sustainable solutions that maintain app stability and functionality
- Collaborate with product management, user experience, designers, and other cross-functional teams
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and feature planning
- Integrate third-party APIs, RESTful APIs, GraphQL web services, and other data sources
- Implement secure data handling, caching, local storage, and synchronization
- Research and implement best practices, design patterns, and emerging technologies
- Manage complex projects and support continuous integration and deployment processes
- Mentor small engineering groups
- Ensure adherence to quality, security, and performance standards
- Contribute to technology solutions supporting Walmart Vision Center customers ordering glasses, sunglasses, and managing contact lens needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proficient in Swift and Objective-C
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, GraphQL web services, and data management, storage, and synchronization techniques
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and code optimization skills
- Experience developing iOS applications
- Ability to collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers
- Ability to work with ambiguity and shifting requirements
- Willingness to learn new languages, tools, and frameworks
- Ability to handle production issues and shifting priorities
- Ability to ramp up quickly in unfamiliar domains
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available
