About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures for analytics and reporting
- Translate stakeholder business requirements into effective data solutions
- Implement data governance practices for regulatory and ethical compliance
- Design and optimize data models for data lakes and distributed data stores
- Automate data integration and transformation using modern tools and orchestration frameworks
- Monitor data quality and guide accuracy and reliability of data assets
- Evaluate emerging data technologies and methodologies for continuous improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally on enterprise-wide data initiatives
- Support actionable insights, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field; or 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field; or Master's degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field
- 3 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics
- Proven expertise in data engineering, including scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data lakes, distributed data stores, and data architecture principles
- Experience with PySpark, Databricks, Apache Airflow, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions aligned with data strategy
- Proficiency in cloud and big data environments
- Problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
- Ability to meet Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
