About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Solve complex time series forecasting problems and derive actionable insights from terabytes of data
- Use data science tools and techniques to solve Walmart business problems
- Develop proofs of concept, present solutions to business stakeholders and evolve them
- Convert solutions into pipelines or APIs as needed
- Research, learn, disseminate and adapt new technologies
- Improve existing solutions
- Brainstorm and review data science solutions
- Mentor junior associates
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Bentonville to address business challenges
- Build forecasting, prediction and root-cause algorithms
- Develop time series forecasting models and machine learning pipelines in a big data ecosystem
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.Tech or MSc with 9+ years of relevant experience in AI time series forecasting and machine learning/artificial intelligence, or M.Tech with 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in time series forecasting, machine learning and data science
- Proficiency with Python, PySpark and BigQuery
- Proficiency with scikit-learn, PyTorch and TensorFlow
- Knowledge of commonly used design patterns in data science
- Familiarity with GCP or Azure for distributed computing and scalability
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 4 years' analytics experience; or master's degree in these fields and 2 years' analytics experience; or 6 years' experience in an analytics or related field
- Good communication, influencing and mentoring skills
