About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own 0-to-1 discovery for new product opportunities from problem identification through validation, prototyping, pilot, and scale/pivot/stop recommendations
- Lead hands-on customer discovery and research, including defining learning goals, conducting interviews and concept tests, synthesizing insights, and translating evidence into product decisions
- Frame ambiguous problems with clear customer problems, hypotheses, and success metrics
- Rapidly create concepts and prototypes using design and AI-assisted tools
- Assess desirability, feasibility, viability, market dynamics, and Walmart’s differentiated right to win
- Define MVPs and experiments, using qualitative and quantitative evidence to prioritize and make tradeoffs
- Partner cross-functionally across Product, Design, UXR, Engineering, Data Science, Strategy, and Legal
- Build compelling narratives and recommendations for senior leaders
- Transform Walmart’s unique data assets into solutions that drive customer value and new revenue streams
- Partner with Engineering, Design, Business Development, Legal, and Research in a fast-paced 0-to-1 environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in product management; or 9 years’ experience in product management or related area
- Strong product management fundamentals and demonstrated success in ambiguous, 0-to-1 environments
- Hands-on customer research experience, including planning and conducting research independently
- Entrepreneurial, high-agency mindset with comfort wearing multiple hats across strategy, research, design, and execution
- Strong product and design sense
- Ability to create lightweight prototypes and POCs using modern AI tools
- Excellent structured thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to frame problems, develop hypotheses, evaluate opportunities, and define measurable outcomes
- Strong communication and influence skills across cross-functional teams and senior leaders
- Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and willingness to change direction based on evidence
- Experience with data, AI/ML, B2B SaaS, or adjacent technology preferred
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 6 years’ experience as a product manager preferred
- Knowledge of implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices preferred
