About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems
- Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices, innovation, and knowledge sharing
- Develop Walmart’s OMNI pricing platform supporting eCommerce and store channels
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; or 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
- Strong experience in software design patterns, API design, and platform development
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++
- Experience with full software development lifecycle activities, including CI/CD deployment, observability, and maintenance
- Ability to conduct design reviews and apply data-driven decision making
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
