About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive execution of business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs
- Supervise and develop associates through selection, training, mentoring, delegation, performance expectations, evaluations, recognition, and coaching
- Promote company policies, procedures, mission, values, ethics, and compliance
- Evaluate the effectiveness of plans, programs, and initiatives and identify improvements
- Perform full-stack development, including hands-on coding, code reviews, debugging, and frontend/backend optimization
- Develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes
- Implement microservices architecture and integrate backend and frontend applications
- Mentor team members and foster continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Make architectural decisions, document systems, and drive frontend and backend architectural vision
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across geographies
- Monitor application health, improve performance, and address critical issues
- Lead technology initiatives, innovation, projects, and technical guidance
- Develop project timelines, manage tasks, and ensure timely delivery
- Implement models and algorithms operating on massive datasets
- Establish quality, best-practice, and non-functional standards and guide teams in executing them
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in design and development of highly scalable applications and platform development
- Proficiency with Java and Python
- Experience with big data technologies and frameworks such as Spark and Kafka
- Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, system design, and microservices architecture
- Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and caching solutions
- Experience working in platform teams or building shared tools and frameworks
- Proven ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Experience with cloud-native technologies such as GCP or Azure and DevOps practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to lead projects and mentor junior team members
- Experience in e-commerce or marketplace platforms
- Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in internal platform evangelism
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
