About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable platform capabilities
- Deliver infrastructure, tooling, and agentic frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities
- Drive the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles using microservices and automation
- Integrate AI/ML components
- Conduct system design reviews for quality, feasibility, and architectural alignment
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing
- Influence technical and architectural decisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements
- Use data-driven practices to optimize development processes
- Contribute to scalable, resilient billing solutions for Walmart Fulfillment Services within the Global Marketplace organization
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices and containerization
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka
- Skills in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping
- Experience in DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Data-driven decision-making skills to define metrics and optimize engineering outcomes
- Ability to collaborate, provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and influence architectural decisions
- Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy
- Preferred: Master’s degree and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
