About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive execution of business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs
- Develop and communicate business plans and priorities, remove performance barriers, provide resources, and measure progress
- Design, architect, and deliver one or more systems/products end to end
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Estimate effort, identify risks, prioritize work, and meet project schedules
- Improve engineering best practices, code quality, documentation, testing, and monitoring
- Build and maintain systems compliant with certification, regulatory standards, and information security programs
- Ensure highly scalable, extensible, and high-performance product architecture and implementations
- Analyze and test programs/products before launch
- Suggest extensions of current systems to new products and services
- Deliver high-quality products on schedule meeting business and technical requirements
- Mentor and coach engineers and provide technical leadership
- Supervise and develop associates through selection, training, mentoring, assigning duties, performance evaluations, recognition, and coaching
- Promote company policies, ethics, integrity, and compliance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; alternatively, 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- 10+ years of object-oriented software development experience
- Experience using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Hibernate, Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices, Azure or any cloud, Kafka, MSSQL, and NoSQL (CosmosDB/MongoDB)
- Expertise in event-driven programming; recommended experience in Kafka
- Hands-on experience with Mockito and Jenkins
- Hands-on experience writing JUnit test cases and working with Maven, Ant, Gradle, and Git
- Experience with Splunk, OpenObserve, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Basic knowledge of Large Language Models, generative AI, and agentic AI
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience developing highly scalable and available products
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design concepts
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of security concepts and protocols, including authentication, authorization, and confidentiality
- Willingness to learn new skills as project needs require
- Required bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
- Ability to mentor junior developers and improve software engineering practices
