About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data platform capabilities and AI-driven applications
  • Drive the full data lifecycle using cloud-native architecture principles
  • Influence technical decisions and align solutions with strategic priorities
  • Mentor engineers and foster engineering excellence
  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Python, Scala, Apache Spark, and Airflow
  • Develop and deploy workflows on Google Cloud Platform using Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and proper data modeling practices
  • Use open table formats such as Apache Hudi and Iceberg
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting SAP postings and analytics
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability across environments
  • Build and deploy RAG-based AI solutions for intelligent document retrieval and contextual response generation
  • Integrate LangChain and LangGraph to orchestrate complex AI workflows and multi-agent systems
  • Develop Agentic AI capabilities to automate decision-making and enhance data-driven insights
  • Support full lifecycle delivery and operational monitoring

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, Spark, and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services: Dataproc, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Storage, and Vertex AI
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps
  • Understanding of data lakes, data lakehouses, data warehousing, ETL, Kappa and Lambda processing concepts, and data modeling
  • Practical experience with LangChain, LangGraph, RAG architectures, and Agentic AI systems
  • Knowledge of retail domain data flows and KPIs
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering/software engineering, with at least 4 years on GCP
  • Ability to work with integrity, respect for individuals, and a customer-first mindset
  • Google Professional certification is a plus (preferred, not required)
