Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
  • Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Conduct system design reviews for feasibility, quality, and architectural alignment
  • Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components using multiple programming languages
  • Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics
  • Drive continuous improvement through prototyping, error correction, and knowledge sharing
  • Analyze critical security exposures and vulnerability data through Walmart’s Technical Vulnerability Assessment team
  • Develop software solutions and workflows that support vulnerability remediation and Walmart’s security posture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and software design patterns
  • Demonstrated ability to lead platform engineering efforts, including infrastructure, tooling, and ML framework development
  • Skilled in data-driven decision making and problem solving
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
