Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities
Deliver infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
Lead full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Conduct system design reviews
Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components
Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into technical requirements
Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices, innovation, and knowledge sharing
Develop next-generation omni-advertising platforms for Walmart Connect's Sponsored Search Ad Server engineering team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
Software development across coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML integration
Experience using Python, Java, and C++
Ability to conduct system design reviews and apply software design patterns
Leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions
Proficiency in data-driven decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred: Master's degree and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
