About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Code, unit test, and build high-performance, scalable applications for Walmart International customers
Drive design, development, implementation, and documentation
Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
Engage with Product Management and Business to set priorities and deliver products
Design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions supporting strategic initiatives
Work with Architects and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting Quality, Cost, and Delivery requirements within architectural guidelines
Create high-level and low-level designs with engineering teams
Drive design discussions and technical decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

11+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
Hands-on experience in microservices and RESTful web services development in Java
Experience with SpringBoot, Dropwizard, or equivalent frameworks
In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture and microservice architecture
Knowledge of related stacks, including Service Registry, ELK/Splunk, microservices, and VMs
Experience with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
Exposure to agile methodologies
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD development environments/tools, including Git, Maven, and Jenkins
End-to-end ownership of at least one cloud-based project
Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years' experience in software engineering or related area
