About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities
- Deliver infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
- Drive coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
- Lead system design reviews
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into technical requirements
- Improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and data-driven insights
- Support Walmart Marketplace Engineering platforms and services for seller lifecycle management, customer interactions, and seller insights
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development
- Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability
- Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
- Data-driven decision making and problem-solving skills
- Creativity and innovation in software prototyping and tooling
- Effective collaboration and communication skills
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
- Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
