About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities
  • Drive full-lifecycle software development focused on cloud-native architecture and AI/ML integration

  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Platform, and Infrastructure teams
  • Optimize performance through partitioning, caching, asynchronous processing, and concurrency tuning
  • Mentor engineers and act as a technical multiplier across multiple teams
  • Participate in production incident reviews and drive long-term platform reliability improvements
  • Influence technical decisions and translate complex business needs into actionable solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and automation
  • Strong full-lifecycle software development skills, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and design patterns
  • Ability to lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills
  • Adaptability to evolving technologies and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field and 2 years' experience
  • Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
  • Must comply with Walmart’s drug-free workplace and no-tolerance policy regarding illegal drugs and alcohol on the job
