About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive design, development, implementation, and documentation
Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver products
Apply technical skills to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions supporting strategic initiatives
Work closely with Architects and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) within established architectural guidelines
Create high-level and low-level designs with engineering teams, drive design discussions, and make technical decisions
Build next-generation platforms for marketing, ad delivery, and customer engagement across multiple countries
Develop platforms supporting account identity and authentication, customer profiles, payments, and post-order experience

Requirements

What you’ll need

11+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development
Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns
Hands on experience in Microservices and RESTful webservices development in Java using SpringBoot, Dropwizard, or equivalent framework
In depth knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Microservice Architecture, Service Registry, ELK / Splunk, VMs, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
Exposure to agile methodologies and DevOps
Experience with CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of at least one cloud-based project
Strong hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
