Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and machine learning frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
Lead full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
Design and review software solutions for quality, security, and architectural alignment
Integrate AI/ML components to build intelligent automation features using multiple programming languages
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence
Engage stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and measurable outcomes
Develop and maintain data pipeline framework systems supporting Search and Personalization at Walmart
Build systems that transform user interaction signals, catalog data, and other sources into features and datasets powering machine learning models

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
Experience in software development lifecycle management, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and software design patterns
Ability to integrate AI/ML components and develop intelligent automation features using languages such as Python and Java
Skills in data-driven decision making, defining success metrics, and optimizing engineering processes
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews
Ability to collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
