Key responsibilities & impact

Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities
Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
Conduct system design reviews and validate feasibility against architectural best practices
Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and agentic AI for intelligent automation
Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
Promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing
Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements
Track success metrics using data-driven practices
Enhance observability, automation, and scalability across Walmart’s Generative AI platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
Proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping
Experience with AI/ML integration and intelligent automation features
Experience with coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability
Ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions
Data-driven decision-making skills
Collaboration and communication across technical and business stakeholders
Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred: Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
