About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and priorities
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
- Lead system design reviews to validate feasibility, quality, and architectural alignment
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features using multiple programming languages
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
- Promote engineering excellence through continuous improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements
- Track success metrics using data-driven practices
- Develop and maintain marketplace platforms supporting Walmart’s product range, pricing, seller lifecycle, customer interactions, and marketplace risk features
- Collaborate with partner platform teams to improve seller and customer experiences on walmart.com
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development
- Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability
- Ability to mentor and guide engineers
- Skilled in data-driven decision making and requirements analysis
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
- Must work at the Sunnyvale, California location specified for this posting
