Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities
  • Deliver infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to build scalable, resilient, and agile systems
  • Conduct system design reviews and ensure alignment with architectural standards
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and intelligent automation
  • Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements
  • Use data-driven approaches to define success metrics and optimize development processes
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for code quality, tools, and engineering productivity
  • Maintain platform stability through engineering and site reliability practices
  • Manage production runbooks, dashboards, and incident-management alerts
  • Support reliable, scalable ecommerce fulfillment operations for Walmart and Sam’s Club

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; or 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
  • Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform design and development
  • Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance
  • Ability to conduct thorough design reviews and apply data-driven decision making
  • Skilled in debugging, remedial action, and software prototyping
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and requirements analysis
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies is preferred
