About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build high-quality user experiences across mobile platforms
  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities
  • Perform hands-on mobile development, preferably with Android, Kotlin, Jetpack, app architecture, performance, and testing
  • Lead coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance across the software development lifecycle
  • Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and architectural alignment
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components for automation and multi-step reasoning
  • Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices, innovation, and knowledge sharing
  • Develop Android and iOS solutions for Walmart Spark mobile app supporting Last Mile Delivery drivers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area; OR 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation
  • Proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping
  • Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including CI/CD deployment, observability, and maintenance
  • Technical leadership and mentorship experience
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Background in platform design, DevOps engineering, and software security best practices
  • Technical delivery management and continuous improvement skills
  • Preferred: Master's degree and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
  • Preferred knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices
