Key responsibilities & impact

Support, maintain, and enhance independent software vendor products on the z/OS mainframe platform
Manage ISV software installation, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning
Coordinate with vendors, internal teams, and customers
Support complex z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments
Monitor performance and resolve technical issues
Troubleshoot, escalate, and evaluate solutions
Address security, compliance, access governance, vulnerabilities, and audit readiness
Automate processes using JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL
Use AI-assisted tools for observability, incident analysis, anomaly detection, documentation, and automation
Provide on-call support and incident resolution
Drive cross-team coordination and ensure reliable, secure, compliant enterprise operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 2 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering; or 3 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering
Experience with z/OS and Parallel Sysplex environments
Expertise in z/OS ISV lifecycle management
Proficiency in JCL, TSO, REXX, Python, and SQL automation
Experience using AI-assisted tools for observability, incident analysis, anomaly detection, documentation, and automation
Hands-on experience with BMC, Compuware, Control-M, Mobius, Connect Direct, Tectia SSH, SAS, and MXG
Experience with infrastructure maintenance and performance monitoring
Strong coding skills and knowledge of JCL, REXX, Python, and SQL
Expertise in configuration, version, and release management
Understanding of infrastructure design, scalability, disaster recovery, and security frameworks
Vendor management or ISV tool lifecycle experience, including onboarding, upgrades, licensing, and decommissioning
Familiarity with mainframe security, access control, and change management standards
Availability for on-call support and incident resolution
Strong troubleshooting, incident response, communication, and collaboration skills
